Infant Mental Health

NURTURE INFORMATION HUB

Infant mental health focuses on the well-being of children from birth to three years old, especially their ability to form close bonds, manage emotions, and explore their surroundings.

This is greatly influenced by how caregivers respond, the mental health of parents, and a stimulating environment. Important factors include forming secure attachments, learning to regulate emotions, and cognitive development.

Healthy signs are strong attachments, curiosity, and proper emotional expression. Problems like constant crying, lack of interest, or delayed milestones need early attention. Supporting infant mental health means educating parents, providing early help, and offering therapy to promote development and address issues. Creating a nurturing and supportive environment is essential for lifelong mental health.
