Miracle mum Ally shares Kodah's story:
Kodah was born at 25+4, 5 days before Christmas 2022.
He spent a total of 123 days at the flinders medical centre in Adelaide.
He was born due to severe IUGR and abnormal dopplers, he was 565g when he was born via c section at 11:01am on the 20th of December 2022.
During his stay at FMC he went backwards and forwards health wise, he had grade 2 & 4 brain bleeds 3 days after birth, NEC when he was 34 weeks corrected which made him extremely sick and was his biggest hurdle.
He also had ‘the biggest inguinal hernia’ the doctors had seen which was operated on 9 days before we got to take him home.
His entire stay at fmc, due to Covid restrictions his two older brothers weren’t allowed in to meet him so they only met him for the first time when he was 4 months old.
Kodah came home on oxygen and was on it till he was 11 months old.
He was also diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy at 10 months and we were told he wouldn’t walk before two.
Fast forward to now, he’s a thriving two year old and has been walking since he was 15 months corrected, he’s still our ‘tiny man’ at 9kgs but he’s a little fire cracker who is proof of ‘small but mighty.
