Learning Difficulties

NURTURE INFORMATION HUB

Learning difficulties in preschoolers who were born premature or sick can be complex and multifaceted. These children may face challenges in acquiring new skills and knowledge due to various factors such as developmental delays, sensory sensitivities, executive functioning deficits, and neurological issues.

Understanding the root causes of these difficulties is crucial for developing effective strategies to support their learning and development. Early intervention services, including speech therapy, occupational therapy, and developmental support programs, can play a vital role in addressing developmental delays and promoting learning readiness.

By recognising and addressing learning difficulties early on, caregivers and educators can help preschoolers born premature or sick overcome these challenges and thrive academically and developmentally. Individualised support, patience, and consistency are key in supporting their learning journey.
