We are so thrilled to announce that our Move 4 Miracles Challenge is back, and we want YOU to get involved!
We encourage everyone to participate in our fun challenge to raise vital funds to help improve, support and enhance all lives impacted by a premature or sick birth. It’s easy, simply reach 48,000 steps (OR 36.5km) in 48 days to support the 48,000 miracles born in Australia each year.
The challenge officially kicks off 30th September and ends on the 17th November, which is World Prematurity Day.
Every step or kilometre that you walk, run or ride will help premature and sick newborns and their families reach their full potential. Money raised goes toward our vital family support services and resources.
Our Ambassadors, Australian Cricketer Megan Schutt and her partner Jess Holyoake will be participating in Move for Miracles in honour of their daughter who was born prematurely. In 2022 they welcomed Rylee via emergency c-section due to extreme intrauterine growth restriction, at 28 weeks gestation and weighing 858 grams.
''Our family is in a fortunate position to be well and healthy. Rylee is such a fun, clever and affectionate little girl. She loves to dance, sing and play dress ups (anything Spider-Man or Halloween related!).
Thinking back to our tiny baby in NICU, we couldn’t be more proud of how far she has come. She has faced some challenges along the way - though we are lucky enough to have the right supports in place for her and have full faith that she has, and will continue to, overcome any challenges thrown her way. She’s one incredible kid.''
Both Jess and Megan will support us once again this year and we are very grateful to have their support in our Move for Miracles Challenge.
It's more than just walking or running, as long as you are moving your body, you can take on the challenge. Here are a few ideas just for you to keep in mind.
Funds raised through Move for Miracles will go toward supporting families through our NurtureProgram, including our NurtureLine (24 Hour Family Support Line), NurtureTime (in-hospital emotional support) and NurtureGroups (community play and support groups, for after discharge). Your support will also help continued distribution of our family NurtureProgram Resources, via hospitals.
