Post Pregnancy Exercise

NURTURE INFORMATION HUB

Postpartum exercise is an essential part of recovery after childbirth, helping mothers regain physical strength, boost energy, and improve emotional well-being. For those with babies in the Neonatal unit, gentle movement can also help alleviate stress and anxiety during this challenging time. It’s important to begin gradually, starting with low-impact activities like walking and pelvic floor exercises, and always consult your healthcare provider before starting any exercise routine, especially after a caesarean or complicated delivery.

As your body heals, you can slowly progress to more moderate exercises, but it’s crucial to listen to your body and take things at your own pace.

Postpartum exercise can also have a positive effect on mental health by releasing endorphins and improving mood. Remember to start slow, stay hydrated, and seek medical advice if you experience any discomfort.
