Calling all staff and students of all ages! Let’s host a community day for a cause.
‘Students in Teal’ is an engaging and impactful way for schools to unite in support of Miracle Babies Foundation and help fundraise for families affected by a premature or sick birth. Some of these families may have had a recent or past experience with a preterm pregnancy and could very well be one of the families within your school.
Let’s raise awareness and support for these families and their children by bringing together students, teachers and families in a fun, teal, community day!
From dressing up in teal, participating in creative challenges and contributing a $2 coin, this campaign empowers students to make a difference while building community spirit. Every inch of generosity helps support these families in need.

What’s an existing community idea we can try?
TEAL DAY!
Teal day is a special event where schools can turn their clothes, hair or classrooms into teal for the day. This event is simple: students and staff wear teal, participate in fun activities and fundraise with a $2 coin.
With a simple gold coin donation, your school can create miracles while building community spirit.

If you would like to create your own event or host your own idea, here are a few that you might be interested in…
- Teal Toes – dedicate a day or a week to wearing fun teal socks and fundraising for Miracle Babies.
- Training in Teal – turn your swimming or athletics carnival into a time for giving by wearing teal ribbons, caps, or tops while competing (and snap a photo or two).
- Events in Teal – host a fundraising night such as bingo, trivia or a raffle.

Create your fundraising page, personalise the Campaign Name (by adding your name or the name of the fundraising activity) and set your fundraising goal in the Campaign Amount field. Share your page with friends, family and on your social networks to raise awareness and vital funds for the cause.
All funds raised will enable us to continue to provide support to the 48,000 Australian families each year, whose babies require the care of a NICU or Special Care Nursery. Miracle Babies Foundation is Australia's leading organisation supporting premature and sick newborns, their families and the hospitals that care for them. Every year in Australia around 48,000 newborn babies require the help of a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) or Special Care Nursery (SCN). 27,000 of these babies are born premature and up to 1,000 babies lose their fight for life.
For families, the experience of having a baby come into the world not as expected or planned is life changing. Without support, this overwhelming and traumatic experience can have lifelong effects on the emotional well-being of these miracle families. It affects the entire family unit.
Since 2005, Miracle Babies Foundation has been passionate in developing and providing vital programs and resources to support and enhance a family’s experience from a threatened pregnancy, hospital journey with a premature or sick newborn, the transition to home and beyond.
