Kangaroo Care or skin-to-skin contact is a special way parents can spend time holding their baby and an experience parents remember fondly during their hospital stay. Our flyer contains all vital information about 'Keeping families close' and the benefits of why we encourage Kangaroo Care. Whilst it is great for bonding there is also evidence of the medical benefits for your baby.
In November 2023, the World Health Organisation (WHO) released results from research and the lifesaving impact of Immediate Kangaroo Care on babies worldwide.
The WHO explains Kangaroo Care as:
“Kangaroo care is a method of care for preterm infants. The method involves infants being carried, usually by the mother, with skin-to-skin contact".
Miracle Babies Foundation supplies a range of resources for families with a premature or sick baby and are developed by parents themselves who have had their own experience. Our resources are all assembled with love and care by our staff and volunteers, working towards our mission to ensure families feel supported.
