I had a normal pregnancy until I was 32 weeks when I started bleeding heavily and having contractions. I went to the hospital and found out that I was not actually in labour, I had pre-eclampsia and if my daughter wasn't delivered by c-section we would both die.

Little Grace arrived at 2.20am on Monday 16th November 2009 weighing 3lb 9oz. I didn't get to see her till 10am, she was rushed into SCBU and put on CPAP. A few hours later I was told she was doing well and breathing on her own. She also had a drip in her arm to help fight off any infections.

A week after she was born Grace came out of the incubator and was placed into a cot with a heated mattress. The temperature was brought down each day and finally on Saturday 19th December 2009 I was able to take her home.

Grace is now nearly 2 years old and is a happy little girl. Having a premature baby is a difficult thing for anybody and nobody expects it to happen to them. I was only 16 and it happened to me.
