I was 32 weeks and 6 days when my little girl decided she had had enough and wanted out. I'd had a big Easter weekend and asked a friend to drop me off at the Women and Children's Hospital in Adelaide after noticing some fluid. I thought I would just get checked and then catch a bus home, instead I was told I had ruptured membranes and I was 3cm dilated. I hadn't had any contractions and bub was perfectly fine, though because she was breech I needed to have a c-section.

My little girl was born that afternoon Tuesday 6th April at 3.05pm. She was 4lb 14oz (2210g) 42cm, she was a chubby prem compared to a lot of the others in SCBU.

She is now almost 7 months old, 6.5kg and doing fantastic thanks to all the doctors and nurses at the WCH in Adelaide. She is rolling and trying to crawl, though at the moment it is a little harder as she has a plaster cast on her left foot to try and straighten it. She said her first word at the start of October, "Dada" was so cute.

Storm is a happy baby and no one picks her as a prem because she is chubby, until they asked how old she is and I say her age they look shocked, so I explain she was a prem but doing great.

I met so many mums while we were in hospital and still talk to them today, it's been great to keep in touch. Even though Storm-Lea was only in hospital for just over 4 weeks it felt like forever, I sat by her crib every day from 8am until 8pm and only leaving her side when doctors did their rounds.
