Our grandson Arthur was born at 28 weeks & weighing 995 grams.
So tiny, yet so incredibly strong. Those early days were filled with worry but also awe. To see such a tiny baby fighting so bravely reminded us how precious life truly is.
The NICU became a place of strength & a home for Arthur, Emily & Bryson along with family support. As every hour, day & week passed he reached milestones and grew stronger.
Arthur may have been born early but he has already shown us he has the heart of a fighter & the spirit of a survivor. We are so proud to be his grandparents.
We are only 1 family of 6 babies born premature or critically ill every hour in Australia. Babies can go on to face lifelong challenges & the experience affects the wellbeing of the entire family. Sadly, each year up to 1000 babies will lose their fight. One is too many!!
I am taking part in the Miracle Moon Walk to raise funds for the Miracle Babies Foundations who support NICU families & were instrumental to Arthur' journey.
