Our Research Approach

There is an underlying understanding that the care we receive today is available as a result of others taking part in previous research.

Miracle Babies Foundation is committed to working towards creating innovations in research and practice that will deliver better, healthier outcomes for newborns and their families challenged by prematurity or sickness.

Our research partnerships with healthcare providers and professional organisations improves standards of care and long term quality of life.

Since 2012, our Founder, Melinda Cruz has been an Honorary Research Associate with the University of Sydney, School of Medicine for her work as an expert consumer representative. Representing the Foundation, Mel has co-authored many research articles.

As Australia’s largest neonatal consumer organisation, Miracle Babies is able to provide health professionals and researchers access to a very large community of families who have experienced the birth of a premature or sick baby. These families are often very willing to participate and share their experiences, information and points of view to help our joint mission of advancing health.

If you have a research project or survey you would like to share with families, please complete and submit HERE.
