NURTURE INFORMATION HUB
Neurodevelopmental disorders are brain based, developmental conditions that affect the development of the nervous system, leading to abnormal brain function which may affect emotion, learning ability, self-control, and memory. These disorders most commonly begin in childhood and can be lifelong. These disorders can present with difficulties in communication, inattentiveness, learning ability, self-control, memory, trouble interacting with others, hyperactivity, repetitive behaviour, lack of eye contact, all of which evolves as an individual develops and grows. Children will require a development assessment for these conditions to be diagnosed. Early diagnosis means children will have access to early intervention, which can make a big difference to children’s outcomes.
